How to Deal With Rejection as an Actor

Rejections are part and parcel of an actor’s journey. Instead of focusing on rejections, the post looks at ways in which you can handle rejections better and emerge as a better actor. To start off, an actor should not be dejected if he/she doesn’t get a call even after putting the best efforts in an audition. Secondly, try to assess why you didn’t land the role. Do the producer’s vision of the role, the idea, and the character not align with what you portrayed on the audition stage? Thirdly, talk it out with a friend to remove all negativity towards the rejection and move ahead with the next audition and next role. Another tip is to receive as much feedback as possible to improve your chances at the next audition. If possible, you can enroll to an acting class to polish your skills as an actor.
